Make the switch

For this blog to truly work I urge you to get behind and try a number, or preferably all, of my ideas – here goes another one.

By far the easiest way to adopt this new way of eating is to bring in the new and throw out the old. These refer to the food you’ll find in your kitchen shelves/larder/cupboards etc. so play along and buy some stuff-get rid of some stuff.

First the throw aways. This will be painful for some…

Crunchy style muesli – it’s laced with sugars in quantities you wouldn’t believe. Go check, look at the labeling, the truth will set you free so to speak.

White bread & baguettes (oh I love white bread and baguettes or should I say loved?!?) but making a sacrifice now could mean living longer and with all my own limbs and organs in tact. If that’s not worth it then I don’t know what is.

Over-ripe bananas – they convert into sugars affecting our bloodstream almost as rapidly as chocolate. The whole emphasis of my eating style is to create a slow release of sugars and you’ll feel healthier for it.

Rich tea biscuits

Cupcales

Baked potato

Canned fruits in syrup

Sugar

Tomato ketchup

Chocolate biscuits

Bagels

They all have the common theme of too much sugar and releasing their energy into your bloodstream too quickly.

Slow is good, slow is better, slow is excellent!

And now for the stuff you should stock up with…

Sugar free muesli

Pitta bread

Sourdough bread

Fresh apricots

Under ripe or medium ripe bananas

Oatcakes

Spaghetti

Sweetcorn – tinned is fine

Fresh oranges

Grapefruit

New potatos

Chocolate (!) yep so long as it has cocoa content equal or greater than 70% but don’t eat the whole bar in one sitting!

Tortilla wraps

There’s a whole list but this is only the start.

If you want to reach a ripe old age in good health – Make those difficult changes NOW
