About
So why this blog?
Five years ago I was diagnosed with type two diabetes. Until that point I knew of diabetes but not what it actually meant – well, not what it could actually do to the body. This blog is not designed to wax lyrically about what you should do and not do as a diabetic. Nor will I begin to preach about the Global state of Diabetic affairs and the injustice of…well you get the idea.
So why THIS blog?
I love to cook and it shows, believe me. Over the last five years I have discovered wonderful recipes that can help diabetics – when I say help, I actually mean the way in which our bodies convert what we eat into sugars. Slow Burn good – Fast Burn not so good; but it’s a question of balance.
My blog is an attempt to share my thoughts, others readings and wisdom and the all important recipes. Most of the recipes will be aimed at using natural wholesome foods that are terrific and utterly tasty for EVERYONE to enjoy not just for those that are diabetic.
Importantly, I believe in balance and whilst this might be diabetically irresponsible, occasionally I will post a recipe that carries with it a general ‘this is SOOO bad for you but you gotta try it at least once’ type of rating.
Anyway, thanks for reading and check back soon.
